Puwen Lee

Puwen Lee

Nominated by the Arlington Food Assistance Center

For more than a decade, Puwen Lee has been a major force in the mission to bring fresh produce to food-insecure families in the Arlington area.

Lee served as a volunteer with the Arlington Food Assistance Center for more than 13 years, holding positions as Volunteer Coordinator, Associate Director of Programs, and Plot Against Hunger Manager within the organization.

As a result of Lee’s leadership in Arlington’s urban agriculture movement, there are now 55 garden plots at sites throughout the County.

Lee has also contributed to Arlington County’s Urban Agriculture Task Force, Arlington Friends of Urban Agriculture, and to the establishment of an organic vegetable garden and Tool Lending Library at Central Library.
