For decades, Charlene Bickford has been a prominent leader in the community in a variety of capacities.

Bickford has served two stints on the Arlington Electoral Board, from 1987 – 1994 and again from 2003 to present. She began her most recent 3-year appointment to the board in 2018 and currently serves as its chair.

She has also given back to the community in myriad ways, including being an educator and historian at George Mason University and The George Washington University (GWU).
