Caroline Gary Romano

For nearly 20 years, Caroline Gary Romano has been an active supporter of those affected by sexual and domestic violence.

In 2012, Romano founded Rally Against Rape, a community-action based organization that focuses on combatting sexual violence through awareness, activism, and advocacy.

She has also served as a commissioner on the Arlington County Commission on the Status of Women since 2008, as an advocate with the D.C. Rape Crisis Center and as a clinic escort with the Washington Area Clinic Defense Task Force.

Romano is credited with organizing the first Northern Virginia Take Back the Night Event, a gathering in support of those affected by sexual violence, which is now an annual event
